“Xploration Station,” Fox’s Two-Hour Block of STEM Programming for Kids, Earns Two Emmy Nominations

On March 24, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the┬ánominees for the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and “Xploration Earth 2050” received two nominations, one for Outstanding Special Class Series and another for Outstanding Writing Special Class. The series, hosted by renowned artist and futurist Chuck Pell, is one of four shows comprising “Xploration Station,” a two-hour blog of STEM-related programming airing on Saturday mornings on Fox TV stations.

Since its premiere in 2014, “Xploration Station” has been well represented at the Daytime Emmys. In 2014, “Animal Science” was nominated for Outstanding Children’s Series, and in 2015, “Xploration Earth 2050” was nominated for Outstanding Special Class Series. 2015 also saw a nomination for Philippe Cousteau, grandson of legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau, in the Outstanding Lifestyle/Travel/Children’s Series Host category for “Xploration Awesome Planet.”
